XI THE POOL OF ABILITY XII BRIEF SUMMARY AND MAIN CONCLUSIONS.
It has been apparent in recent years that in modern industrialised societies there is a shortage of highly-educated manpower; if that man power is to be used to the best possible advantage, it is essential that an estimate of the size of the nation's "pool of ability" be known. Dr McIntosh's book gives an account of an attempt to estimate the size of the pool of ability by scientifically-conducted research.
