"Emerging modernity, persisting traditions Co-existence of the modern and the traditional is unique about farming in the peripheries of Bengaluru. In Tubgere village of Northern Bengaluru, for instance, a small patch of farmland is prepared using tractor, while a relatively large one uses bullocks for draft power. Old, majestic tamarind and coconut trees line farms growing exotic vegetables for the city."

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಪರಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿನ ವ್ಯವಸಾಯದ ಅನನ್ಯ ಅಂಶವೆಂದರೆ ಆಧುನಿಕತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕತೆಗಳ ಸಹ-ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವ. ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗೆ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಉತ್ತರದ ತೂಬುಗೆರೆ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ, ಕೃಷಿ ತುಂಡು ಭೂಮಿಯೊಂದನ್ನು ಟ್ರ್ಯಾಕ್ಟರ್‌ ಉಳಿಮೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ, ಇನ್ನೂ ದೊಡ್ಡದಾದ ಹೊಲ ಉಳ್ಳವರು ಉಳಿಮೆಗಾಗಿ ಎತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನೇ ಬಳಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
