The talk will unpack the recent Supreme Court judgement that decriminalised consensual sexual relations between same-sex adults. It will then focus on the lived realities of diverse sections of sexual minorities (based on class, language, gender, caste, and geographical location) and move on to highlight some of the campaigns and programmes as well as the approaches that Sangama, a leading human rights organisation working with sexual minorities, sex workers and people living with HIV, has adopted over the last two decades in its work towards creating equality and justice for sexual minorities. It concludes by pointing to new areas for engagement post IPC 377 judgement.
